Well, being that I have never seen a real live musical, I don't really
have anything to compare it too. I have seen movie musicals and the
songs for Nemo seemed so forced, for lack of a better word, like they
were really reaching for lyrics. It just doesn't seem like fish would
really sing these songs, you know, if fish could really sing. They
don't really sing do they? :)

Only in the world of Disney. For what it's worth, though, meerkats
and warthogs don't sing either! ; )
