| | Guest | Wishes (MK fireworks version) vs. Wishes Soundtrack CD Well, I'm bummed.
I was playing around my Wishes video, overlaying the CD soundtrack
over the fireworks, and found a few problems.
I'm trying to decide what to do about it. I'm sure I'll be able to
fudge it, but I was hoping for a clean overlay.
All involve Mr. Cricket's voiceovers. (I really like the CD version
at 12:11 better. A tip of the hat to the Imagineers. Disney should
have left that one alone. No one would have noticed... :-)
So, I'll list the differences below, in case you're trying to do the
same thing...
Oh, this was from the Wishes CD, (c)Disney 2004, Catnum: 61092-7
Have fun!

1:48 ADR Timing Mismatch - Slight difference in how the words are
spaced within the brackets:
"Pretty, Huh? I'll bet a lot of you folks don't believe that, about
a wish coming true. Do ya? Well, I didn't either. 'Course, I'm just
a cricket, {{{but let me tell you what made me change my mind.}}}
You see, the most fantastic, magical things can happen, and it all
starts with a wish..."
6:22 ADR Mismatch - Different timing and tenor, doesn't come close
to matching:
Park version: Jimney 'sings' When You Wish Upon A Star.
CD version: Jimney 'talk-sings' When You Wish Upon A Star.
9:24 Different dialog:
Park Version: "You know folks, you gotta be careful of what you're
wishin' around here, or you'll get yourself in an awful mess. But
just as things go bad, fate steps in to see you through. Well, I'll
be. Oh-ho-ho, it's the Blue Fairy!
CD Version: "Hey, what's goin' on here? Oh, whatilido? Whatilido?
Well, goes to show ya, sometimes you gotta be careful what you wish
for. Well, I'll be. Oh-ho-ho! It's the Blue Fairy!
12:11 Different dialog:
Park Version: "Huh, huh." (Could be uh-huh or ha-ha...) "See what a
little wishin' can do?"
CD Version: "Huh, huh. What they can't do these days..."

Good to know, thanks for the info. Maybe Disney will get a few more
dollars for the new CD.
And yeah, they have the same catalog and ISBN numbers. Odd.

Well, there's no accounting for taste! :-)
Thanks again!

I'm sure you're right. I just typed it out as I heard it, and my brain
types waaaaaay faster than my fingers, so things like that slip through
the cracks all the time...
