Default "best" rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge ? Ideas for six year old kids ?

I'm new to this newsgroup, and really appreciating the information
contained. I've got a vacation 'on hold' to take my daughter and
six-year-old twin grandsons to DW in April, we are holding a room at
Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I have to go in with my deposit...and any
special requests. We want a savannah view, of course, and I'm not too
sure that a concierge upgrade would be worth it to us (opinions,
please) because this is a 'strictly-for-the-kids' trip. I've read that
we should ask for certain areas, floors 3 or 4 ... I'd appreciate any
input readers can provide. And ANY advice relevant to a trip for four
days with two energetic six year old boys (although I've been reading
that we shouldn't overestimate their endurance level, and we are
prepared to have fairly short days, time in the afternoon swimming and
evenings at the Lodge with the animal viewing and story-telling).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Gwen in S.E. PA

Depending on how much energy you have vs. how much energy twin 6 year
old boys have, all I can say is water + sun = MUCH less energetic
kids.My son is VERY high energy, and the only time I ever saw him
happily fall asleep (except when he's sick) is after a day in the
pool/beach/water park.

Thanks to all of you who wrote, and I appreciate your input. And thanks
for the nice welcome to your group! I will keep checking here, and
doing 'searches' for more information as we get closer to our vacation
date.

We did rather short notice for this trip - what's available at
Polynesian is much more expensive, and I also thought that since the
boys are great earlier in the day (they like to get up by 5:30 or 6
a.m.), we'll have the animals to watch, and we can schedule to spend a
few evenings at A.K., and they will be thrilled to have a pool to swim
in (they are Pisces...and are excellent swimmers). We're not even
going to MENTION water parks for this trip! I like the advice people
are giving the Dad going with his 4 year-old twins and a 7 year hold
-- we are going to map out a 'tentative' schedule (my daughter and I),
and see how we do with FastPass, and plan to have nice dinners with the
boys....they are great and adventurous eaters! I'd like to find out
about the various fireworks shows at night, to maybe plan for one late
night (they do love fireworks). I'd like this to be a super memorable
trip, not just for them, but for Mommy and MomMom.... the boys' dad
recently moved out, and it's been hard on everyone, so it's terrific to
have something to look forward to!

Thanks for the advice and the welcome... I think we'll be pleased with
having the afternoon activities at AKL, and the pool. I have to 'do'
this trip with the belief that this is just the first of many visits
there with the kidlets! Actually, I've been wanting to go back for a
long, long time, but had too many other 'priorities' to do it! Since
my husband is the one who says, "you only go around once" and "life is
not a dress rehearsal," I think I'll join him and try to live that way!
