Default Walt Disney World: Dinner Shows at WDW

Hi all,

We're travelling to Orlando (from South Africa) again (our third trip since
2001) and want to try some new dinner shows. We're doing Hoop-Dee-Doo and
the Seaworld Luau. Any suggestions on others to try? Has anyone tried
Dixieland Stampede or Medieval Times?

Thanks,

Bianca

I thought Medieval Times was poor food. (I'm
vegetarian, but I heard others in my party who
ate the meat courses say the same thing.) I can see
a better show at any Renaissance Faire in the country
for a lower admission price. (Florida has one of
those in Fort Lauderdale, its season is February-March.)

Haven't seen Dixieland Stampede, although one of
my children saw one of those in Tennessee and
liked it.

This year my child's school group went to WDW and
did Arabian Nights on Rt 192. Even the kids who
are big horse fans were disappointed. They voted,
I think unanimously, to remove that attraction
from the next trip plan.

Actually, when we went the food was decent - roast chicken, not too
dry.

The show itself wasn't that great (I was bored) but my 11 year old boy
loved it.

I've been to most of them. Love the Medieval Times Show. The food is
typical of that of the medieval times so it is not gourmet. Hated the
Arabian Nights Show and food. If you have children, the Pirates Show is
very good as they incorporated the kids into the show.

I have also heard good things about Dixie Stampede, and it is very
close to Disney
making it convenient.

I would avoid The Pirate Dinner Adventure at all costs. The pre-show
is lengthy and can be costly, the entertainment was okay despite
increditbly bad sound, waitstaff was non-existent (free beer and
wine.....both served room temperature, and appeared at the dessert
course) and the food was truly bad. I have done the Excalibur dinner
show in Vegas and it was very good, so I know this can be done well.

I would agree....the Pirate Adventure is by far the worst dinner show I
have ever been to. I have friends that work at Dixie Stampede, and they
say that the show and food are good....

On another note, I would NOT recommend Arabian Nights. I thought that
they were just cruel to the animals in the show. I went for free, and
to me it wasn't worth it at that point!

I enjoyed Medieval Times. It was a fun night and I thought the food
was actually good. Super-moist chicken, good soup, and fun show. The
only thing I didn't like was being herded like cattle before we were
let into the arena and guided to the gift shop and/or bar to buy
specialty ($$$) drinks. Save your money. Drinks are included with
your dinner. We didn't buy any souvenirs except the photos they take.
I would say it's worth it to go at least once. We're thinking about
Dixie Stampede too. I've heard it's the best dinner show in the area.
Enjoy!

Really? The menu is supposed to be somewhat authentic? I went to their
website, and then I did a little poking around (thanks google) to find
out about real medieval feasts. The Medieval Times menu looks to be
pretty modern, uninspired American, imho. Which part is supposed to be
typical of the time? I think it's not gourmet because it's mass
produced, to appeal to your average tourist and to net the most profit.

Is Capones suitable for a teenager? Or is it more an adult venue (not
*that* kind of adult...you know what I mean)?
