Mist at Expedition Everest The word on other forums is that the mist effect as it was installed had an
unintended effect on the track and/or sensors. Supposedly it was fouling up
some of the track sensors on that portion of the ride (the sensors weren't
designed to be sitting in a heavy mist all day long) The ride would E-stop
because the sensor was telling the system there was a train where there
really wasn't one.
For now, the effect is turned off. My guess is that if Imagineering and/or
the coaster manufacturer (Vekoma, I believe) can come up with a new sensor
that will work in the mist, the mist will return.
