That article sure didn't go into much detail, did it? I wonder if it's
because of the news source, or if it just didn't get sensationalized
because it didn't happen at Disney?

newspapers and TV stations? WESH gave it only a very short story on
Tuesday's 11pm news [I didn't see the afternoon broadcasts since I was
still on a day trip that was screwed around with by another news
incident...]. And the Orlando Sentinel only had a brief blurb, probably
sourced elsewhere. | |

| | Guest | OT/Man dies after riding Busch Gardens coaster Believe it or not, I have stated in my "will" (more of a written
statement for my sig-other) that I want to be cremated and have her
toss a few ashes off several of my favorite coasters.
Of course that will never happen, it's not legal.
I ride coasters, I do bungee drops, I rode a motorcycle, I parasail,
I'm planning to fly an ultralight some day. We've had several recent
local motorcycle accidents, usually not the riders fault. The local
newspaper asked if that made any difference in my riding.
"Nope, I always ride aware, safe and sober. If someone crosses the line
and crashes me, it probably doesn't matter if I'm in my car or on the
bike. Hell, I might even be able to avoid the crash on two wheels."
When it's my time, I'm going out knowing I've experienced much of what
I wanted.
If that time happens on a coaster (I can answer YES to most of the
warning questions... obviously not preggers) so be it. It'll be a fun
last experience!

| | Guest | OT/Man dies after riding Busch Gardens coaster Good for you. I find the mindset where nothing bad is ever supposed to
happen to anyone to be insane.
I do think motorcycles are extremely dangerous, much more so than any
of the other things you mentioned. It's the one thing you mentioned
where you're not actually in control of your own safety, because the
other nuts on the road just plain can't see you. You're more likely to
get sideswiped by someone switching lanes, than get into a head-on.
Joe works with high explosives and flies, and wants someday to be an
aerobatics instructor for his early retirement gig, but he won't get on
a motorcycle.
But yes, taking personal responsibility for risk is something that's
sadly lacking in our culture. Everything has to be somebody's "fault"
and everyone has to live according to the fear of some future lawsuit.
It's ridiculous. Sometimes we feel like moving to Australia or some
wild place where people aren't such whimps.

Interesting topic- I wonder how many people's cremains have been
"scattered" in the park? It wouldn't be that hard, especially on one of
those nature trails....

I also thought about getting my ashes dumped in the Pirates of the Caribbean
water but thats out now that the ride has been... desecrated. Guess the
Haunted Mansion is the next logical choice, graveyard scene of course.

As long as you don't have to spend the rest of eternity listening to
little dolls sing "It's a small world after all"!
The Haunted Mansion's outdoor graveyard (there are two now) would be a
good choice. And I don't mean to sound corny, but it must be said:
Don't forget to bring your death certificate.....

fireworks for the Disney company and request that you go into a shell
that explodes over the castle? That would be my wish.

And we got it all on film - from one of our security cameras made up to
look like a seagull. The funny part though, is that we thought you were
just dumping your Nescafe - a common sight these days...

I guess that would work but the joy I would recieve from being dumped out
onto the crowd would be getting in peoples hair, on ice cream, in their
drinks, etc... You wouldn't get the same effect being mixed into a 8 lb
ball of gun powder.
I guess a relative could get a job at Disney and mix my remains in with the
fake snow they blow all over Main Street for the Very Merry Xmas Party.
