Default Disney Dining Plan question

First of all....

Y - I - P - P - E - E.... I'm dancing on a cloud because... my husband
and I just got permission to take our 14-year old nephew on his first
trip to DISNEY WORLD!

We're heading down the Sunday after Thanksgiving and staying the week.
YAHOOOOO!!

Ok... my question, sorry lost my head for a sec.

We are planning on the Disney Dining Plan because we want to take him
to several sit down restaurants and he is a big seafood and steak
eater. We have ressies at:

Liberty Tree Tavern, Character Dinner
Sci Fi for dinner
Mama Melrose for Lunch
Le Cellier for dinner
Teppanyaki for dinner

We just wanted to know how far in advance we have to purchase the DDP?
Can we do it a month before we go?

My husband and I have an AP and are DVC members staying at a DVC for
the week, OKW.

We just forked out for airfare so we want to wait a bit before buying
the plan. Thank in advance for your help.

Have a magical day,
Cher

Cher,
Are you talking about the dining plan that goes with Magic Your Way
tickets (the one snack, one counter service, one table service per night
stay deal) OR are you talking about the Disney Dining Experience that
AP's can get?

If you're talking about the Disney Dining Experience, I'd call and get
it 6 weeks to 1 month before you go. You could ask them about the
"lifetime" of the DDE. We got it last year & it's definitely been worth
it even though we're not big eaters!

Oops... sorry, I'll clarify.

We are talking about the Dining Plan (one snack, one counter service,
one table service) for $37.99 per person. We were told we can buy it
as DVC members w/out the magic your way package. Just didn't know if
we could wait on buying it.

THanks

Default Disney Dining Plan question

Cheryl,

If you are staying at a DVC resort on points, all you need to do is add
it
to your reservation prior to your arrival. You will have to pay for the
plan on
check-in, so you don't need to wait to add it to your reservation.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I remember hearing that DVC could buy -- but not
sure about when you need to purchase or need to arrange. Have a great
trip!

DVC members have to add it (thru Member Services) prior to arrival -
I've heard 5 days and also heard 3 days, so better be safe & add it at
least 5 days prior to arrival. You don't pay for it until you check
in, so having the $$$ now isn't an issue. You can always call now &
add it - then if you changed your mind for any reason, simply cancel
it.
