| | Guest | MYW Dining Plan I'm going to WDW in Aug, during the Free Dining Plan promotion. I have
3 children, ages 13, 11 and 10.
Since it appears that they are considered "adults" (age 10-up) for the
plan, does that mean that they can order anything off the menu at the
participating restaurants? I see alot written up about "under 3's", and
that children 3-9 must order off the children's menu, but just wanted to
check on the 10 and up rules. Will my resort card show that I have all
"adult" meals on the dining plan? Or will each of us in the party have a
resort card with meals on it?
Can I use my meals anyway I would like? For example, say I meet my
brother for dinner one night. He's not on the dining plan. Can I use
my credits to pay for his meal, or does he have to be a registered guest
on the dining plan?
Also, do the table-service restaurants charge for "plate-sharing"? My
10 year old daughter and I could easily share one appetizer, entree and
dessert for dinner.
Thanks in advance!

My understanding is that there is no such thing as "adult" meals vs
"child" meals on the plan. You have
(days x people) snacks,
(days x people) counter-service meals,
and
(days x people) table-service meals on your account.
You're free to use them however you want. I've read reports of paying
for the young kids' meals out of pocket, and saving the dining plan
meals to pay for an extra meal elsewhere in the trip, since the
children's meals are so much cheaper.

There are two different plans.....child (3-9) and adult (10+).......
Also, you can let other guests (who are not necessarily staying in your
room with you) use your meal plans, basically they tally up how many sit
downs, snacks, and counter services you have total, and just take them
off as you use them. So if you are meeting friends, and you are there
for 5 days, and there's 4 total people, and you opt to use your dining
plan, they will just take off 4 sit downs from the card...... You can
use them how you wish.
Thanks
