Default Horse Riding?

I am going to Disney in July/August and would like to take my daughter
horse riding. She is 5 (6 in Sept).

Can anyone recommend what is the best thing to go for? I see that Fort
Wilderness lists Pony rides or Horseback riding. Is she old enough for
the horseback riding or are we limited to the Pony Rides? I have tried
searching but cannot find much recent info, so if anyone can help I
would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Neil

Additional thoughts..the pony ride at $3 or either the nightly wagon
rides ($8/$4 )or private carriage rides ($30 half hour) will get your
daughter close to a horse. And, there's a petting zoo as well for other
farm animals.

Lee,

Thanks. I think you might be right. I think we might just do a
carriage ride and she can try riding at home (UK).

When I was there in Dec the petting farm at Ft Wilderness (at the
Settlement, next to Pioneer Hall) was still going strong. And since I have
heard nothing about this being changed, I would say that it is still
there. It is very popular. And I suspect that the pony rides at the
petting farm more than pay for the staffing and upkeep. So it probably
isn't going away anytime soon. :)
