| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? We just came back from our trip, and I have to say the same thing. I
was wishing for the days when "everything" worked right, i.e. all the
lights worked in Spaceship Earth, etc. Our room at the Boardwalk Villas
was a mess. The airconditioner didn't work, the toilet backed up and
the shower was dripping so badly by the end of the weekend, that it was
as if the water was still running! Nice to know that my DVC maintenance
dollars are at work! (Yes, I called maintenance. They came once, put a
"band-aid" on the airconditioner where it worked for about 2 hours,
then died. When I called maintenance again, the person said, "OK, this
time I'll call the airconditioning guy." Who did they call the first
time?)
We all knew that it was just a matter of time before the "short cuts"
were going to take their toll. I truly wish they'd go back to their
"old" maintenance routine-don't wait until it's broken or worn out to
replace/repair. | |

| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? Did they end up fixing the AC? If not I would have demanded another
room.
Also, to the OP, when the cars stopped moving on the HM, it could have
been stopped to accomodate a handicapped person's access to the doom
buggy. I know this happens on SE.

| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? Were you there from opening until closing? If so, having an Indy car
stop, a breakdown on the TTA and having a doom buggy delay doesn't seem
like that big of a deal to me. It is probably unusual to have 3 delays
in one short time span though.

You're just lucky, I guess. I've been there five times in the last
year. On two of those trips (December and February) I experienced
significant ride closures.
In December (right before the Splash Mountain meet), I tried and failed
to ride on Philharmagic, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the
Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise. The Jungle Cruise was down because it
didn't open until 10:00. Everything else was just broken down.
In February, I remember being stranded in both Buzz Lightyear and
Spaceship Earth for long stretches. We never got to RnR Coaster because
it was down every time we went near it and the Great Movie Ride took a
couple of tries before we found it open. That trip also featured
multiple frustrations with tickets (one AP and one on the hotel room
key) that never seemed to scan in spite of multiple trips to guest
services to have them "fixed."
I don't recall any significant breakdowns on the other three trips.
Disney does seem to get things right most of the time, but they have
major glitches with some regularity. My husband, who only goes down
every other year or so, was convinced after the February trip that
NOTHING at WDW works correctly.

| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? Well, I'm sure all of the rides break or stop more often than we, as
individuals, realize. They are all operating a significant number of
hours each day and as with all mechanical and technical items, they
break down. I'm sure the huge majority of guests don't encounter any
breakdowns.
I must admit, some "show disruptions" are humorous. I was on the
Carousel of Progress when it wouldn't start rotating after the Spring
scene. We got to hear the same scene 3 times before it revolved again.
It was funny and it's grown to be one of my favorite rides. ;)
I've been visiting WDW since '94 and I've been on Spaceship Earth, TTA
and Splash Mountain when it stopped (with the obligatory PA
announcements) but never been evacuated from a ride. I just thank my
stars the Skyway never stopped while I was on it! Yikes - TGIG!!

| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? The delay at the Haunted Mansion was rather brief, probably 2 minutes
or less. I had a feeling it might've been an access stop. It was funny,
that was the first time I'd really heard X's voice, other than from
listening to my "HM" CD.

| | Guest | Park broken on Memorial weekend? It was a pretty long day at WDW as a whole on Sunday. From the time I
parked at the TTC until I returned to my car was a solid 12 hours and
change. We had lunch at MK and did some hotel pin shopping, then I
spent about 4 hours at Epcot and the last 5 until closing at MK.
