This is the one that puzzles me. It'll be nice to be able to wander
through Epcot after Illuminations, but it's not like Epcot is chock
full of E-ticket attractions that people will be riding repeatedly in
the extra two-and-a-half hours. Is it?

Can anyone offer first-hand experiences of an Epcot Extra Magic
    Evening yet?

    Thanks,

No, I suppose that Mission: Space and Test Track are the only
things at Epcot that could be called E-ticket rides (until
Soarin' opens for real). But if the restaurants and bars in
World Showcase stay open until midnight, that sounds worth
    it to me. :-)

Can anyone comment on the extra magic hours. Do the parks fill up in the
evening like they do in the A.M.
I was always told to avoid the parks that had an early opening, but i'm
wondering if 3 hrs. at night might be a lil much for some, especially those
with toddlers. Is it worth going to at night or should I avoid it altogether
and go to a different park with regular hrs?
    Thanks

Both MGM and Magic Kingdom were very crowded during Late-EMH the times we
    tried it.

In May we went to MGM - it was open till 1AM, so I taught that most parent
with small kids would be gone. I was WRONG, early in the trip wait times
for Rn'RC were from 15- 40 Min.. But during Late-EMH it got up to 90 Min.,
and that was with an extra showing of Fantasmic. Magic Kingdom was almost
as bad in September, crowds during the day in September were VERY SMALL but
at night for Late-EMH it became very crowded. Plus you couldn't find
    anything to drink.

Note: If you can get up early enough to arrive at the Early-EMH park at
opening, it can be very empty at the beginning - just plan on "hopping" to
another park around noon. For some reason though may people go to the
Early-EMH park, but they don't arrive until 10 or 11.

I have very little experience with Evening EMH but it sounds like it
may vary with the season. We attended Evening EMH at MGM this past
January. The park was closing at 7:00 so EMH ran from 7-10:00. It was
fairly empty and very easy to hit multiple attractions. At 9:45, ToT
    was a walk-on.

Evening EMH at Epcot in March was crowded...more than I had anticipated.
I think I was expecting crowds similar to the former E-ride nights at
the MK but it seemed larger that evening. I hear evening EMH's are
tending to be quite busy because people already in the park during the
day stay plus there is no extra charge for it.

That makes sense. One question that may yet to be answerable, if there is
some event (golf tourney, cheerleader/pop warner, etc) that has youthful
participants kept busy durring the daytime (or families of same), how
would that effect the evening EMH crowd? I know that some of the crowds
from these events tend to not overly increase park attendance durring the
day, but it would make sense that the participants may use evening EMH to
hit the parks after their daytime activities. So it would seem to me that
such events may effect the evening EMH crowds without effecting the
    daytime crowds.

Just a personal speculation. No personal data to support it yet.

In the summer, when the night EMH's at Magic Kingdom went beyond
midnight, they would be well attended for the first hour,
hour-and-a-half of the three. By the time two hours elapsed, many
EMH-ers had had their fill. If you stayed for the whole time, you could
    walk onto almost anything.

At this part of the year, when MK is closing at 8 or 9, a night-time
EMH may be much more appealing to stay for all of it.

: Yeah, but that requires doing something that is anti-vacation to me.
: Namely getting up with an alarm clock. <G>

Ahhh. Another kindred spirit. When I'm on vacation I intend to do things
different from my daily life. So I tend to lean towards the unthnkable,
waking up only when my eyes open on their own. Of course this is why
the first meet I hosted (and continue to host) at the Holiday meets is so
crazy. Can you imagine ME hosting an early morning Breakfast meet? It's
silly but it actually works. Hosting dutys forces me to get up early on
that ONE day so I don't sleep through the entire day of fun stuff.

BTW, Dave, when are we going to see you at the Holiday meets? We expect
ALL prominent posters here to show up at least once.

I do the same...but I'm naturally a morning person, so my eyes are open no
later than 7:00 usually! It makes it a little tough sometimes though,
since I stay up much later at WDW than I do at home. Yet no matter how late
I stay up, no matter how much I say "I'm sleeping in tomorrow", once the sun
    is up so am I.
