I was worried about that. I couldn't find any reference to when this map
was published. Know of any other online source for a more up-to-date pdf
map?

FYI the "Vista gate" (the security gate between Bonnet Creek Golf and Fort
Wilderness) is now closed. You can drive in any direction without stopping for
security.

No kidding!
When did this happen? I guess the more secure FW entrance made this gate
expendable.

True. The parking lot at the Fort is now divided in half. You can still
access the lot near the old Vista Gate (River Country entrance) to park for
Hoop De Doo etc, but to access the front of the lot to gain access to the
actual campground you have to go through the securty gate. BE ADVISED when you
leave the fort via the security gate be careful.....the exit is not to the
right of the gate like most resorts, it is off to the side. The Fort security
gate has an entrance on both sides of the kiosk.......almost hit a car head on
the other night...OOPS.

It amazes me how long it took to make the campground more secure, because the
Vista gate only prevented east to west traffic, anyone could access the
campground from the MK.

We were there for 7 days starting October 4. It was closed then as well.

Actually you could only access the front parking lot, you have needed a room
key to gain access to the actual campground for years.

There is one ironic thing about security at Disney. The last two hotels to get
a security guard were the Poly and the Fort, the two hotels that had a security
kiosk (unoccupied) for years!

True enough, but once you got into the parking lot it was easy to get through
the gate.

The guard told us (a couple weeks ago) that they had alot of
problems with people piggybacking into the campground behind
paying campers. This is why they changed it.

People were getting to they're campsite to find someone already
camping there.

(those people should be banned from Disney for life)
