Paris, Boulevard Beaumarchais, start from Bastille walking north
toward Republique. In a few blocks you'll start hitting the used
camera shops, within the next six or seven blocks there will be a
dozen or so. They will be on either side of the street. You can't
miss them as they will all have hundreds of lenses on display in the
front windows. One is primarily Leica, a couple are MF and the others
are all primarily Nikon/Canon. All are closed on Sundays and all but
one are closed on Mondays. When you reach the point where
Beaumarchais turns into Boulevard du Temple the shops are finished.
You wanted to have lunch one day in Paris anyway, right?

Just be prepared to pay the typically high European price.

Well, the high european price is cheaper than the very high English prices I
have to pay where I am now,
That's why I go to europe in the motorhome instead of using it in england,
for the price of 2 nights on an english campsite I can get the ferry over to
France, where diesel is cheaper and better quality, so we get better MPG
figures (proven in my motrhome)
And once over ther we can stay on the thousands of aires de camping cars,
which cost from nothing to 7 or 8 euro's a night,
Just a shame there isn't an aire in Paris, or we may have headed there, but
the nearest campsite is a fair way out of the centre, we can't take the dog
on the metro, can't leave her in the motorhome, and no way i'm taking the
motorhome into paris centre again, not that we'll get a parking place
anyway, had problems parking the smart car we rented a few years ago,
Cheers for the suggestions tho.

You MUST be the typically uninformed and ignorant American.
