Charles, you are absolutely correct, there will be fewer families traveling
in the first half of June than the second half of the month. But I think the
kid count will be higher than traditional in-school months because school
is, in fact, out in some parts of the country. Texas schools are usually out
before May's end--we often beat the rush and get out there in early June.
Now, I think this would hold more true for Carib cruises from FL or Gulf
Coast ports because it seems the early school dismissals tend to be in the
South. I'll bet those Bermuda and longer Carib cruises departing from NYC/NJ
and other Atlantic ports...like the Crown Princess cruise y'all just
enjoyed...would be delightfully low on kids until after the traditional
mid/late June school dismissal.
Wouldn't the Crown be a lovely honeymoon cruise, with some nice ports + a
good sprinkling of At Sea days?

Then Princess would be a better fit for honeymooners then Royal
Carribean for a June sailing. Thanks Ray!

Well, Tom, them are some fun fighting words! Normally, I would agree with
you that the Voyager class' unique features, e.g., the ice show and the
Promenade, are so "wowsome" as to make one of those ships a hands down "must
sail" over a Radiance-class ship. But the way Dave described this couple, I
thought they were prime candidates for your fav, Celebrity, and in that
case, I think the Radiance class is much closer to the Celebrity experience.
Also, I do have to confess, I have a bias toward smaller ships. I know size
is relative here inasmuch as we are talking about a bunch of big ships, but
the fact is, the Radiance class is appreciably smaller than the Voyager
class. (And truth be told, I fell for the Serenade. Hard. She remains the
prettiest ship I've ever sailed...but that's so subjective, from person to
person, and even from cruise to cruise based on your cruise experience and
even how you are feeling that trip vs. another trip.)
So why do you feel so strongly about the Voyager over Radiance?
Sorry you missed the SGC. Surely, you're down for another Vikings tour?
Best,

Yes, it would be fantastic with a little time in NYC before or after
the cruise. Of course the airfare would be very high and cruises out
of NY are always high. I still think it is worth checking out!!

Diana, I just sent you my album of photos of the SGC Crown Princess and you
will see for yourself, many of the people on the cruise with us and will be
able to determine for yourself that Charles' * UGH* can be disregarded! We
did have some camera duels and Jeff was the best at hiding so he did not get
caught as often...but I did manage to catch him a couple times!

And I've already sent my photos to Diana to back up that statement!
