When the port first opened, RCCL ran shuttles between the Bayonne light
rail station and the cruise port. Does anybody know if they still do
this? I'm still investigating the best way to go about getting to the
port.

I had heard the same thing, so counting on a shuttle and having lots of
time we thought we'd save the exhorbitant flat rate taxi charge from
Newark A/P and take the light rail. We alit at the station and found
absolutely nothing in the way of transportation or
even information. It was like we had landed on the moon. In
desparation, I virtually commandeered a taxi stopped at a red light
(about a quarter mile away). Even though he was on his way for another
fare, he took us to the ship (less than 5 minutes away, but too far to
walk with luggage) for a "flat fee" of $9. This was last November, and
we were booked on Celebrity's Constellation. I was astounded that the
cruise line did not offer a shuttle service (I would have been glad to
pay for it) and wondered how the crew on leave got back and forth. In
contrast, when we disembarked QM2 at Red Hook (Brooklyn) a few months
ago, a metered taxi got us to Times Square for $22 plus tip.
These "flat rates" are such a scam. JOHN
