Talk about useless, your reply is useless. He asked about pool tables
because he may want to play pool on a cruise, not at home.

Probably he wants to try to find something to do on those boring sea days.

Boring to you, but heaven to others.

Why even take a cruise if you hate being at sea so much?

Simple... for the port days. For the food. For the service. I love a lot
of things about cruises. Just not multiple sea days. I don't mind one here
or there- as a break from multiple busy port days... but I'd definitely
rather have port days. I find port days much more mentally stimulating than
sea days. 5 Port days and 1 sea day is about perfect for me. I like being
at sea at night. I just find sea days boring. I have such a pale
complexion that I can't sit by a pool all day. I'm not a fan of reading on
a ship. I can get by... but would much rather be in port for a few hours.
My mind just needs a few hours of escape from the ship. I kind of view sea
days as lost vacation days. The say way the an 8 hour flight is a lost
vacation day.

I don't even mind a half day on the ship after a half day in port. It's
just a whole day at sea that seems like a "lost" day to me.

Not everyone is like you,we still love our sea days, and try to book
cruises with as many sea days as we can,and we never get bored,it is
very relaxing to sit on a deck, and view the ocean, and watch for
dolphins, flying fish etc. We have too
much hustle & bustle when at home,so we just take a vacation to RELAX

I find that I like the sea and port days to alternate. One sea, one
port, one sea. I don't like too many port days too close together -
too tiring. And I don't like too many sea days in a row - gets a
little boring.

However, bored or not, a pool table wouldn't be my choice of
recreation because I'm completely uncoordinated in that respect.

I get enough mental stimulation the other 360+ days a year. Sea days
are a rare opportunity for me to veg.... to recharge the mental
batteries...to have to think about...well...nothing.

And, I see them as true vacation days...vacation from planning, doing,
etc.Perhaps if I had more days to spend doing nothing during the rest
of the year, I wouldn't appreciate sea days as much. But, sometimes,
forced relaxation, as in a day on a ship with nowhere to go and nothing
to do, is the only way I'll find it...and I need those days to feel
like I've actually vacationed.

I agree! But it's good everyone has their own tastes and there are
cruises to cater too them. I would love all sea days!!! Although I do
love exploring (generally on land trips though) new places especially
through Europe, etc. Did take one 18 day trip through Eastern Europe
once and although I loved every minute of it boy was I exhausted
afterwards! So for me a cruise is very good forced relaxation. In
fact...I am sensitive to the sun as well so don't lay out in it, but
find me a good lounge chair in the shade, a good book, and really I'll
pretty much be asleep in 15 minutes, lol.
