| | Guest | Cruise Ships to Cuba If and when the embargo to cuba is lifted the people of America will be
quite surprised by the beautiful island that lays 90 miles from the
Florida Coast. As a Canadian, Cuba is by far the most superior
vacation, tourism destination for us. Cuba will not be as enjoyable
for the Canadian and European tourists when the American Corporations
start taking over the beautiful beach front properties and start
developing strip malls. This island is inhabited by the most gracious,
hospitable people and to vacation there is like no place on earth. I
hope if/when the embargo is lifted it will benefit the people and their
economy but in reality Americans will probably be the main source of
employment. Imagine what it is like now in Cuba not one single
franchise outlet, only wholesome, fresh foods (especially seafood). No
harassment on the street or beaches from venders. It is truly paradise
on earth something most American cannot fathom. My second most
favourite vacation is to cruise so to be a Canadian or European and
have these options we are truly blessed.

You just proved the OP's point, by missing it altogether.

If there was no embargo or travel restrictions, millions upon millions of tourism dollars from
holidaying Americans would flow into the Cuban economy. This money would raise the standard of
living in Cuba which would mean fewer Cubans risking their lives for a chance to live in poverty in
the US. | |

But, you just got done saying that everything America touches turns to
mud. Now you want us to "touch" them and, I guess, turn them to mud.
Perhaps you need to go back and rethink your whole thesis. Let us know
when you get it all worked out.

Then it changes to making sure they get back what was theirs in Cuba
(even if they or three generations back really had nothing to begin)
with a bunch extra as punishment. You think they were calling for
Castro's downfall for their health?

I think you are confusing the Cubans with Haitians etc. Most Cubans are very
hard working people that have contributed to the community. Yes there are
some but there are some from all nationalities, races, religions that are no
good.

======
Embargo, shmargo. Both hav nothing to do with the Cubans trying to get
here. Look at Mexico.
NO embargo. NO travel restrictions. $$$ flow into their economy.
UH, if that means that their stantard of living is raised fewer Mexicans
are coming over here, HUH? N O!!!!!!!
Embargo and/or travel will have nothing to do with them still trying to
get here.
