Default NCL Western Carribean

Anyone been on this itinerary?
Cozumel, Belize City, Santo Tomas Guatemala and Costa Maya.
Has this area recovered from the hurricanes last year and is Belize City
and Santo Tomas worth the trip?
Appreciate any input.

Whether good or bad we booked the ports on NCL for this March. We're getting
tired of the same old islands so we tried something new. It should prove
interesting.

I'm thinking of booking April. I feel the same way. Looking for a
change. I've been to most of the usual Caribbean ports ala HAL, RCC and
Carnival. Never cruised on NCL. Any input on NCL in general? Median age
group, service, food, entertainment etc.???

We'll definitely have to book a tour in Belize. The city isn't to safe to
wander around on you own from what I've been reading. I'm not sure about
the other stops other than Cozumel which is just beginning to recover from
the hurricane.
It be honest the last NCL ship I've been on was the Norwegian Sea back in
1998 so making comments about NCL doesn't mean to much after all this time
but at the time we found the pax to be younger than Princess or RCI in
general. We thought the food to be maybe of slightly less quality that of
Princess of RCI. The entertainment was as good if not the same as other
lines. It should be a more relaxing cruise with the freestyle atmosphere.

There is only one thing I liked about Freestyle. No need to dress more
than casual. You can dress comfortably. Unfortunately that one feature
is not enough for me to book NCL again.

Freestyle dining. Being rushed through dinner to turn the tables. The
restaurants with a charge were no better or not much better than the
restaurants that are no charge on other cruise lines. The buffet food
was horrible. Outdoor BBQ food on pool deck not too good. Other things
on the ship were average. Service was average. I really disliked the
layout of the pool deck on Dawn. NCL private island very crowded, poor
food served on the island. I put NCL in the catagory of budget cruise
line.

I have not been on Dawn, but the opposite was true for us - we
sometimes had to ask the servers to hurry it up if we wanted to make a
show. We never felt rushed.

I didn't go to any restaurants with a charge so I don't know about
that. I didn't feel that the buffet food was horrible. I could
always find something I like to eat. Because of a hurricane we
didn't get to the private island so can't speak to that either.

Interesting opinion. I'll have to let you know what we find on the NCL Sun
when we return in late March.
