Default Nice hotel near Miami Cruise Port

My wife and I, along with another couple, are taking a cruise on Explorer of
the Seas on Feb 5, 2005. We will be flying in to Fort Lauderdale the day
before and are looking for a nice, but reasonable, hotel to say for the
evening.

Any suggestions???

Priceline. Are you looking to stay in FLL or MIA? I know many people
here book the Amerisuites directly, for pre-cruise stays in the FLL
area, but I got the same property on Priceline for probably half what
you'd pay by booking it direct. And, after staying there, I'm glad I
didn't pay more than I did.

Really, if you're not collecting points or FF miles, or if you don't
have any particular hotel brand loyalties, I think Priceline is the way
to go down there - you get a lot more hotel for a lot less money. And,
you can narrow down, pretty effectively, the areas where you want to
stay, so you're not stuck by the airport if you really want to be
downtown.

And, it's only for one night...it's not like you're risking an entire
week's vacation.

Lee

My wife and I put in a bid for a downtown Miami 3 star hotel for $65 and got
the Radison Hotel. This was when Wilma hit and the hotel really took great
care of us. Food and water at no charge. Our ship came in two days late.
The Radison didn't charge us for the extra days. You can't go wrong using
Priceline. We just got a 3 star in San Juan for our Feb 26th cruise for
$100 per night at the Normandie. Normal price is $265. Hope this helps...

Any questions you may have you can contact me at

We have been on 28 Royal Caribbean cruises and the Explorer is one of our
favorite ships. If you're going to Belize City look into cave tubing. It
was a highlite of our cruise.
