"If" the ports (by which I'm assuming you mean piers) are damaged? News
flash...the piers are damaged.
What will the cruiseline do? I'm guessing they'll skip Cozumel, since
even if you could dock or anchor/tender, it doesn't look like they'll
be ready, anytime soon, to be able to host visitors.

Cozumel is not the place to go Scuba either. Last month when we were
there we were told and shown where Hurricane Ivan tore up the place last
year and they were still recovering. They were ferrying in sand for the
beaches then. I strongly suspect that the sand is all washed away again
and for Scuba divers there will be nothing to see but barren sea floor.
Hurricanes also have a way of ripping up all of the nice sea flora and
pulling coral habitats apart. It will be a year at least before Cozumel
will be back 100% at least for the island, but it will take a long time
for the sea floor to build itself back up. Same thing happened in Grand
Cayman too with Ivan, and now Wilma.
I'll bet you can get some good prices now in Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios.
If you could go to Cozumel, you could probably get stuff for free before
they throw it out. | |

Call your cruise line ahead of time. Maybe they will offer you a
partial refund if they cannot keep the original plan intact and offer a
shipboard credit. A $50 shipboard credit today is nothing.
Cozumel will be out for sure. Grand Cayman should be recovered enough
as they are supported by the Queen. Don't know about Jamaica though.
It didn't impress me when it was up and running. | |

Diving was great when we were there last Thanksgiving. And in June.

I'm sure that dives like Santa Rosa and Herradura came out fine.

GC is getting great reviews for the diving.

Pray tell, why do you say this?

Due to the damaged goods they can't sell or are throwing out. I'm sure
there must be some good bargains to be had. They will have to replenish
their goods. | |
