Oh, I intend to, Tom.. for Alaska next year and/or a Baja/Mexico cruise..I
like the wrap around balcony for both those itineraries ..But you know me..I
like for each ship to be different ...I think the variety is the excitement
for me now that we have cruised so often..That is one of the reasons that I
have tried not to take the same ship twice..Exceptions being the old Pacific
Princess and Carnival Destiny..The P.Princess I liked so much that when we
heard that she was leaving the fleet, we took her again..The Destiny we took
for an Eastern Caribbean cruise and when we got a good deal on her for the
Southern Caribbean with an itinerary of some of the islands that we'd never
seen, we took her again...Unless I am going to an place that I never have
been, the ship and its different *personalities* is most important to me..

I'm finding that I'm drawn back to ships that work for me (e.g.
Constellation/Zenith), rather than taking chances on ships that most likely
won't work for me. The two exception in the past few years were Norwegian
Dawn, for which I had low expectations, and came away really impressed, and
Navigator of the Seas, because while I don't really care for Royal
Caribbean, I really LOVED the Voyager class ship.

Tom,
You are far too young not to be more adventurous! Just think of all the
exciting experiences that you are missing!
You appreciate the good even more when occasionally a little unpleasantness
is *sprinkled* in! ;-)

I was waiting for this.LOL I have not been on the Miracle, but have
been on other "loud" Carnival ships. The Art Deco decor on the Magic
rules and is one of the reasons we would like to sail on it again some
day.

This can happen on any ship or cruise line, some waiters/waitresses
are like yours and others are excellant. On the Conquest we had a
fantastic waiter, who knew who wanted what and when they wanted it. He
also took very good care of Kevin with his diabetic diet. On the same
ship other people complained that their waiter was horrible.

Disney is the only cruise line that does this very well!! I wish the
others would take a lesson from Disney!!

I would love to see you take a Princess, RCL or Celebrity cruise and
see what you think of them. Reading your reaction to the Miracle, I
think these would be a better fit for you.

Hi Susan, nice seeing you here. I hope that Kevin and I will get to
meet you and Clay again someday.

We have always found our cabin steward to be the best place to start
dealing with a problem.
Susan, Clay said he would do it again, but would like to try some
other lines first. What is your thinking on this?

| | Guest | A Miracle Review Sue,
In 35 years of cruising I never had a waiter or a cabin steward who wasn't
excellent. What I have experienced, and it has been discussed here, is that
the job of waiter and cabin steward has become more difficult every year.
More cabins to clean, more people to serve, bigger ships, further between
the kitchen and the table, less help from the assistant waiter.
And, sadly, less personalized service because the staff is pushed to their
limits.

No offense taken. I read, digest and specify. Of course I am an engineer. :)

We have had many who were excellant, but also a few who just barely
did their jobs. It is just the luck of the draw and most of the time
we have done very well.
