| | Guest | Cafe Du Monde to re-open in New Orleans The one thing I regret about missing in New Orleans was not having one
of those beigets and a hot cup of their coffee. The one day I went to
get one the line was out the door and I just figured I'd get one later.
Later Never happened. Top of the list for next time. | |

Rick, the same thing with me and Kevin. It was very crowded and I
figured ok, let get some beigets and eat them while we walk. The line
was sooooo long we didn't wait.

Sue, there is no way you could get a beignet and eat it while walking...you
would be covered with confectioner's sugar!!
It happens even while sitting at the table there...never wear a black or
navy top at Cafe Du Monde! The lines are usually long but Ed and I have
always managed to eventually get a table..One of us would watch for a table
and get it and the other would go up and order the coffee and beignets!

I almost forgot, there was someone who was going to get some and bring
them back to the hotel for me(grin)!!
I think the biggest problem for me, is that Kevin can't have them and
as a result I couldn't ask him to put up with the mob scene. I am not
even sure he could have the coffee there??
Next time I will get some one way or the other!!

My oldest son avoids sugar, so he did not eat any beignets, he had a
meatball poboy at Luigi's. Boy were they delicious! I hope Luigi's will
open again.

Re: lines are long. Went early in the morning last May (around 8 AM),
and had only a short 5 minute wait.
