| | Guest | trip report I just returned home from a three night celebrity cruise from San Diego to
Catalina and Encenada on the Infinity.
The Shy Suite was much roomier than i thought it would be.A large closet
too.A very deep tub that made it difficult to get out of .
The suite came with a Butler, welcoming champagne ,fresh fruit and souvenir
Celebrity carry all bags. The room was serviced 2X daily.
Great thermaspa. This is a swimming pool with hot salt water that is just
lovely. I enjoyed it mostly when others were in port and it was almost
empty. They also serve light and healthy food at the spa , right at the pool
that is a wonderful choice for lunch.Fresh poached salmon, chicken and tons
of veggies.Really a great choice.
The best place for breakfast was the casual dinning experience. The formal
dinning room overcooked my eggs and burnt my toast.
The formal dinning room was just fine for dinner and i had chicken two of
the three nights. We were seated at a table with a family with five kids
ranging in age from 5-14.. One thing i didn't realize is that they offer a
complete children's menu that anyone can order off of.I had a peach melba
for dessert one night- something offered on the kids menu.
The second night we ate at the special dining room for and extra $30pp.That
rate was almost a joke .It should be much more. This was really fine dinning
and was more of a dinner show with all sorts of food flaming and being
cooked tableside.I highly recommend this.My Mom wanted the dinner with wine
pairings [ extra $ there too ] and i did not. They would not serve two of us
at the table two different menus. The wine pairing was 6 smaller courses and
the non-wine was 4 larger courses.I am not a drinker and 5 glasses of wine
would have killed me so we agreed on the non wine dinner w here we could
order wine by the glass.
I had a rack of lamb, perfectly cooked that was just lovely. There was a
cheese course- worth the entire $30 itself with 14 choices of French
cheese.I had basil sorbet for dessert and it was amazing !
As i walked out to use the restroom, a waiter escorted me !!I never had that
experience before.
Overall I would cruise this line again.I did miss a grand center area that
we had on Hal several years ago.
I will be happy to answer any questions.

I agree. Celebrity has the best of the alternative dining restaurants.
Thank you for posting your trip report.

Sounds as if you did a lot in three days, Do! Thanks for the review...Maybe
we should try the special dining room..Although from what you posted, I
could never eat nor drink that much!
You didn't mention much about the ship, itself ...how did you like it? I'm
interested as a group of us are sailing on her on the MOAGC2 in February...
Thanks,

| | Guest | trip report MOAGC2 ?????
The ship was nice. Our suite was spacious and well appointed.I am a clean
freak and all was well in that category too. I think you get more upgrades
in the "concierge " section than the suites and am still confused by that.
As I did mention the middle of the ship and the "grand staircase" was less
than grand. No reason to cancel a trip though.Shopping is very limited. There
are lots of out of the way places to sit with a cup of coffee and relax and
enough bars and activities to keep you busy 24/7.
The public areas were very nice. Don't miss that therapool and the spa
lunches.Shore excursions were handled easily but most of the options were
very long , over 3 hours.
The ship earns it's 4 star rating easily.

Not on the Millennium class ships. I find them to be similar to RCI's
solarium, just without the themes.
The t-pools on Century ships are more spa-like. There's a charge on this
class, but jets are strong, experience much more intimate. I think it's
worth it.
