Hi folks,
In a month we will be porting in Grand Bahama, I believe in the
Freeport, Port Lucaya area.
Any suggestions as to what to do or see since this will be our 1st time
there?
Right now we are leaning toward relaxing on a beach unless a better
idea comes along. Any nice beaches close by the ship? Can someone in
our party in a wheelchair, get to a beach?
Thanks,
Mark

If you don't have anything else to do there, you could check out a
worthless piece of property that I own there(grin).

Hmm...Freeport a 'blast from the past' I have not been there in years! I
think that was my first time ever off the US soil to an island about 20
years ago...when I was college age!
However seems I will be there again this January. Our itinerary on the
new Carnival Liberty's first port is Freeport. Followed by Grand Cayman
& Cozumel. Will be interesting to see what they have done to the Lucaya
area since my past long visit there!

Freeport itself isn't really a vacation destination. It is an
industrial city with not much in the way of tourist destinations. I
think there is some kind of International Market and some kind of
casino near there. Although the airport on Grand Bahama is the
Freeport airport, most tourists actually go to Lucaya.
