What ship had some of the first balcony cabins and when?

What was the first ship to use steam?

Use the following words in a sentence:

azipod
tanzanite
jackpot bingo
cocktail of the day
upgrade

Define "formal" as it pertains to ship wear.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, this is your cruise director.

Since we're still wandering around aimlessly due to a faulty azipod,
we're extending our tanzanite sale by one more day, adding a fourth
session of jackpot bingo, offering two-for-one on the cocktail of the
day, and offering a free upgrade in our spa: get a full facial for the
price of a half!

;) How B

From what I remember reading in one of John Maxtone-Graham's books, I
thought it was the Savannah, which was an ocean liner carrying
passengers across the North Atlantic, but you may be right!
Passengers were skeptical about the use of fire on a ship in the
middle of the ocean, so a river boat might have been first.

Technically, wasn't the Clermont was a steamboat not a steamship?

I'm not sure of my nautical terms. But I think that a vessels
built for rivers of lakes are boats and most large vessels built
for the sea are ships.

History of Ship Balconies:

Probable First "Traditional" Passenger Ship: Titanic had two suites with
private promenade deck area [can be considered balconies as they were
the same concept as current hull balconies on QM2].

Probable First "Modern" Cruise Ship: Oceanic [Home Lines] had eight
suites with private -- albeit open air/uncovered -- balconies.

I have not been able to find a suitable deck plan for the Olympic,
older sister ship to the Titanic, so I could ascertain whether or not
she had a few of those suites with balconies, as well. Does you know?

When were the balconies, such as they were, put on the Regal Empress?
Was that before or after Home Lines?

Okidoki.

After six cocktails of the day, my seventh hit the jackpot. Bingo! I
was so fuzzy (I almost said something with p and ssed) I fed the
azipod tanzanites just to get an upgrade...

Definition of formal, as pertaining to ship wear.
The natural damage a ship suffers as it slices through the waters of
the seven seas. Also known as wear and tear."

I don't believe I've ever seen the word "okidoki" in a newsgroup
before! :-)
