Default A good Hotel in San Diego

Sailing on the Carnival Spirt out of San Diego. I will need a
reasonable hotel near the port for one night. Any suggestions?
What would be the best way to get to the port from this hotel?

Thanks for your help,

Andy Dufrane

No guarantees of course, but we Pricelined a hotel for a pre-cruise
night and got the Holiday Inn at the Bay ($70) which is, literally,
across the street from the port. We simply walked out the door in the
morning, strolled across the street, and handed our bags over to the
porter. Really couldn't have been easier. We saw a few other hotels in
the area, a block or two away - still walk-able if your luggage is on
wheels and you're able. Or, a very short and inexpensive cab. Oh...the
Holiday Inn also provided a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel,
which was great, although the distances aren't that big so a cab
wouldn't have been much at all. I don't remember what we paid to get
back to the airport, post-cruise, but I want to say it was around
$10-15, max.

The Holiday Inn there is absolutely the closest. Second choice would
be the Hyatt, which is nicer, but a little bit further.

Does anyone know what the daily parking charge is at the lot across from the
terminal?
Many Thanks
