Default Mariner of The Seas Dining Question

Hey all,

Taking a Sept cruise on the Mariner and have a couple questions about the
premium dining room Chops.

1. Is it formal night every night in there or can you just wear what the
rest of the ship is that night?

2. I have no problem with the cover charge, but can you order like you can
in the main dining room? And what I mean is, can you order multiple
appetizers, entrees and deserts for tasting? You know, sometimes you want 3
appetizers and no entree. Or two entrees? Just curious.

Also, is the dinner in the windjammer the same menu as the main dining room?
Cause man o man do I hate dressing up. I wore a Hawaiian shirt to my
wedding.

-Mike

Default Mariner of The Seas Dining Question

Mike, You are going to LOVE the Chops dining room on the Mariner.
You do NOT have to dress up fancy. However, you can't wear short but
your Hawaiian shirt is fine! You can order what you want in there.
They will bring you anything you want from the menu and as much as you
want. It is MUCH BETTER food then the dinning room offers and well
worth the money. The meat is cooked to order but the veggie and all
are served family style (like if you have just the 2 of you at a
table) it is still served family style.
My suggestion is.....ask for the booth in the corner by the window in
the BACK dining room. NOT The first dining room. The first one is too
busy with the kitchen right there. You want the back one. Much better
and nicer. Go about 6:30 before the rush begins and you will have your
choice of seats but we asked for them to hold that booth in the back
for us and got it. Then we had a 2 hour nice quite lovely dinner for
our 40th anniversary and enjoyed every minute of it. No rush, just
fancy and nice. If you are in a hurry, don't go there.
Hope this helps. Don't know about the Windjammer. Never ate dinner
there.

Default Mariner of The Seas Dining Question

Mike,
My wife and I returned a few weeks ago from a very enjoyable cruise on the
Mariner of the Seas...
I would be happy to provide my insights...

1. You can wear what the rest of the ship wears that night. The literature
suggests "smart casual" - meaning no shorts.

2. You can order whatever you would like and in what quantities you like
also. I would tell you that the quality and presentation is just above what
you would experience in the dining room. We ordered a couple of appetizers
and the waiter didn't batt an eyelash...

3. Windjammer - typically has the same menu as the dining room. We
confirmed this as we were scheduled for the second seating for dinner. One
evening we walked through the windjammer right before dinner and the same
entrees we noticed on the menu later. Obviously it is buffet style -
without the fancy presentation.

Hope that helps... Best wishes for a great cruise.

Kyle
