| | Guest | No answers yet? Still can't find out why we were charged $420 for one night at Laguna
palace hotel in Venice after HAL cruise ,it was a standard room ,with a
parking lot view! Venetian blinds were broken,no water pressure ,no ice
bucket, elevator didn't work for awhile & we were on fifth floor with
four large rollaboards !
too top it off i just noticed they billed us for two nights,5/28 &
5/29 ??
The Rotterdam was "at sea" on 5/28 & docked on 5/29 ! Can't get thru
to hotel , & TA can't get any satisfaction ,she also said she was billed
by HAL for flowers for our anniversary cruise ,(we never got them)!
And then there was the worlds worst cabin & some strangers dirty sox &
underpants that i found under the bed on the LAST day !
Thanks HAL for our 50th celebration!
May you rot in HELL !

Bill, no offense meant, but I think a number of us here told you that it
was an overinflated price for a bad hotel. Your TA did not do right by
you by allowing you to book this. He/she was totally usless in dealing
with HAL before your cruise, why should things be different now? Dump
him/her.
Take things into your own hands. Call your credit card company and
dispute the additional night's charge. The credit card company will
then deal with HAL and/or the hotel, so you won't have to. Write a
strong letter to HAL's customer relations department. Write a letter to
Conde Nast Traveler magazine, attn: Ombudsman. That department has
handled a lot of messed-up situations similar to yours.
Good Luck,

Actually, $420 sounds about right for almost any hotel an American
would want to stay at in Venice. That's about 380 Euros. And a four
star hotel in Europe isn't quite a four start in the US.

Dispute those charges.

Did you note this to the purser? (Or was it supposed to be a
surprise?)

I don't look under hotel beds and I don't take a black light with me
when I travel. I've seen enough without having to see more.

Actually, Bill posted about the hotel mess before he left. Hal did not
have availability in Venice, so they put him in the port town of Mestre,
on the mainland, half an hour away. The hotel for which they charged
him $420 per night, the Laguna Palace, has a standard room rate of $120
on Hotels.com.
He was "taken" by both HAL and his TA on this deal.

Last month I posted that I found over 70 cans of soda under our cabin
bed. I was asked why I had bothered to look under the bed in the first
place. Nuff said... | |

I sometimes will put my own stuff under the bed. Wouldn't you look
first?
