Default CBS? Satellite?

I was in need of a vacation and chose the first weekend of the NCAA
hoops tourney to go on a cruise on Royal Caribbean. Ill be on the
Majesty of the Seas boat and need to know if there are TVs on board the
boat? Do they get CBS? Are there any public areas that might get
multiple satellite feeds so that I can watch more than one game at a
time?

Thanks.

Depends on the shipping company's
purchase of the rights to the game. Ask
your travel agent to check. I'm almost
certain they will have it, but then ....
Cheers,
John

First, I have been on Princess and Carnival and has not seen any
"regular" network programing on any ship. On one cruise, the Super Bowl
was shown in the theatre, and I noted that this was not from the
networks but a seperate satalite feed. On our last cruise, Carnival,
the sports bar only had soccer in Spanish. We were told that the sports
"package" had not been purchased by the cruiseline, so it had been
blacked out.

I was on Brillance of the Seas during the NFL playoffs, they carried the CBS
AFC broadcasts on ESPN Latin America. BOS (not form ESPN/LA) had a clean
feed (straight from the stadium - no commericals) from FOX for the the NFC
games. These feeds were on the ship cable system and were viewable in the
cabins.

I've also been on Volendam during Super Bowl and these also had the feed in
available in the cabins.

I have found that generally RCI has a deal with ESPN Latin America for it's
Caribbean cruises. Programming on ESPN/LA is different from ESPN/US and it
may very well be that certain NCAA game are carried (while ESPN would not
have any of the Mens NCAA games). I expect the championship game would be on
(at the very least).

We went Super Bowl weekend, and they had a party in the
theater for the game.. I'd bet they'll do the same for NCAA
tournament games. We were on the Sovereign, which from
what I've read is similar to the Majesty..
