Default Best Bang for the Buck

Have decided on a Southern Carribean cruise out of San Juan in the near
future. Wanted to hear your opinions on which one of the cruiselines that
offer cruises out of San Juan off the best "Bang for the Buck".

Thanks

The first consideration.

When do you want to go?

Why is that critical? Simple.

In the winter there are a lot of ships doing the Southern Caribbean. In the
summer, most of them leave for Alaska. There aren't many left in the
summer.

Probably my favorite of the few summer ones is Adventure of the Seas (one of
the Voyager sisters).

In the winter, there are a LOT of ships, and the ship's and cruise line's
style, and how they match what you want, comes more into play. "Bang for
the Buck" that matches your style.

The time of the year when the winter ships leave is around Easter break.
They return from Alaska around mid October.

"Bang for the Buck"

Not knowing where you live Jeff, I can only relate to the cost of getting to
and cruising from San Juan. It is outrageous if you live in any part of the
USA that is not on the Southern border. You can sail out of many ports and
go the Southern routes if you have a few more days for a fraction of the
cost. Check the RCCL and Carnival sites for 8-10 day cruises. I think you
will like the savings.

Well not quite true. Our flights from Boston to San Juan are only $30 more
per person than if were were flying to Orlando.

I stand corrected. It is approx. now $250 RT to San Juan and $170 RT Miami
as of today.
At the time we did the Southern cruise, 4 years ago, it was around $390 per
person RT. and to Miami was around $280 from he PVD/BOS area. I guess it was
some time ago. Looks better now that I am not in need of a cruise. :(
