Default Summer August 2005?

Any cruise and cruise line recommendations for a family of:

2 71/72 year old grandparents (live in New Jersey)
2 46/47 year old parents and 2 11/14 year old kids (live in San Francisco)?

I'll look into your suggestions.

I thought I would repost my question since I didn't get a single
response (which seems odd on this ng). Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks!

I didn't say much because I really didn't know where to start given the
bicoastal residences and and complete lack of experience with any cruise
lines and destinations.

I know my son wants warm water and easy water sports/snorkeling (which
makes me think Caribbean), but flying the family of four back east vs
the 2 grandparents flying west makes me think mexican riviera.

I would rather save Hawaii for a land-based family vacation.

Warm water, clean water, snorkeling, good dollar value, August, ...

What do you think?

The Mexican Riviera will have fairly warm water (warmer than the northern
coastal Pacific ocean). No guarantees on how CLEAN it will be, though. Cleaner
in Cabo. Carnival Pride sails down there year 'round, I believe. RCI might have
Visions of the Sea or another ship sailing in August. Not sure. Same with
Celebrity. Princess is in Alaska during the summer. I've always sailed down
there in the spring.

Good luck! ~Lindsay
