Those two cabins are identical to each other in size of cabin and balcony.
The square footage, according to Princess is the following:
A 706 231 square feet total, inc. balcony which measures 8' 9" by 5' 2"
B 608 231 square feet total, inc. balcony which measures 8' 9" by 5' 2"
I would expect the balcony cabins on both Aloha Deck and Baja deck to be fully
covered, stacked more or less one on top of the other, as they are on the
Grand, Golden, Star; however, it would be best to check with either your TA or
Princess to confirm this. I have not cruised on the Caribbean Princess, though
I do have the deck plan here in front of me, as well as notes regarding cabin
size and balcony dimensions for those cabins. Also, I sailed on Baja deck in a
similar cabin on the Star Princess.
I wanted to give you a definitive answer and telephoned Princess on your
behalf, but I don't trust that the answer I got (that Baja balconies are half
open and half covered) is accurate. With today being Labor Day, it is unlikely
that the most knowledgeable representatives are staffing the phones.
On the other hand, using a ruler on the deck plan in the brochure, the Baja
deck is slightly wider than the Aloha deck, and if it is a fair representation,
then on the Caribbean Princess, the Baja deck may indeed be partially open to
the sky, perhaps half or less of the balcony.
Personally, I like the location of B 608 better. A 706 opens directly into the
elevator "lobby" area. B 608 is somewhat more midship. Nevertheless, if the
information given to me on the phone by Princess today is accurate, you might
want to change your cabin if you want a fully covered balcony. Princess
stated (and it is obvious from the deck plan) that the Aloha deck balconies are
100% covered.
