Default NCL Mandatory Tipping

NCL seems to be taking a risk with the new mandatory non removeable, non
adjustable tipping policy of $10.00 per day , per person , which begins
in 2005.

Does anyone know if Carnival has plans to try this ?

Ray, and didn't NCL clearly state that the $10 per days is not to be construed
as a
tip? Going into their "revenue stream"?

Princess already does it.
Aren't Princess and carnival part of same company?

I just received my documents for our October NCL cruise of the Panama Canal
and it *clearly* states that the $10.00 per day charge per person is for
tips. However, 15% will be added to drinks and spa charges for tips.

I kind of like the idea that basically all tips are now pre-paid and I don't
have to go looking for cash or the breaking down of larger bills to tip at
the end of the cruise.

JIM

I am with you. I like not having to worry about all this. We were on NCL
earlier this year when the policy was in effect and even with the
Freestyle dining, I did not feel that our service suffered. Lisa
