I could not resist a reply here. We played Dungeon years ago on
computers that are now relics. We made paper maps of every place we
went. How well I remember that maze of twisty passages all alike.
Thanks for the memory jog!

cancel newspaper and mail delivery.
call local police to advise them you'll be out of town (in my town,
when you tell them, they drive up the driveway a few times a day to
check things out), shut the hot water heater (no point in using
fuel/money to keep water hot when no one's home) (during the winter,
we just shut the water into the house, to prevent burst pipes).
pack sunscreen/hat
pack power strip if you have lots to plug in.
confirm with airlines that flight times haven't changed
have a good trip

You know, one of these days, the cruise lines are going to figure out how to
add meters to each stateroom and charge for power consumption, since so many
folks are taking so much stuff that they need power strips! | |

Not soooo much stuff...just more than one thing that needs to be
plugged in at one time. Especially in the evenings, I need to plug in
my travel steamer to heat up while I dry my hair with my blow dryer
that also needs to be plugged in. It just takes two items that need to
be plugged in at once to exceed the typical stateroom's capacity. I
don't think that's unreasonable.

Danni has that naturally permed look naturally. I occasionally use the hair
dryer but my hair looks the same either way.
I use a charge for my camcorder batteries, and we have been known to use a
charge for our cell phones.

Well, when you multiply all the cabins on the ship with multiple devices, it
does seem to me to be a lot of stuff that people (not you, specifically) are
taking and plugging in more things onboard than was intended. If the cruise
lines expected all these devices, wouldn't they have added more outlets from
the get-go? | |

I'm not positive about this, but I think some of the newer ships HAVE
added more outlets.
