Default Cave tubing in Belize - costs and which one

I know this has been beat to death but I'm getting some confusing
information. We're going Carnival Elation in July and I just read a review
where a guy couldn't get off the ship until 10:00 due to Carnival booked
excursions having first priority on the tenders. We don't care about the
lunch, etc on the Carnival tour and have heard that Reggie's does a version
that doesn't include lunch. My concern is, if we are 11:00 getting ashore,
is that too late to make his excursion if we book it ourselves? Has anyone
had experiance with this as his appears to be cheaper and would suit our
needs more?

We took Regtours from our Carnival ship, and although we get off the ship
later, there was no problems on the tour. We arrived back to the ship in
plenty of time.

We have been cave tubing in Belize twice and have taken the ship
sponsored excursion both times. If we were to do it again we would
still do it the same way. Yes, we know that Reggie is cheaper, smaller
crowd, etc., *BUT*....Belize is one port whare we definitely DO NOT want
to miss the ship under any circumstances. And Belize is the one place
where things could go wrong. The busses are older, the roads are
questionable, the destination is in the middle of nowhere. The
possibility of something going askew is much higher in Belize than in,
say, Cozumel or Grand Cayman. If you want to save $20 versus trying to
find a flight out of Belize City to your next port, that is your
decision. Personally, we would never chance it.
