thanks but that price of 70 plus fees taxes seems high. especially for a
lock up no cancel room. personally never paid that much on priceline.

Right, I understand. I began at $50 and worked up from there. Taxes added
about $10, I think. Like I said, I got the Hyatt downtown, which seem to be
in the $200 plus category, so I consider it an excellent bargain.

I'm not pushing Priceline, just relating my recent experience in Vancouver
looking for a 4 - 5 start hotel.

You got a great property. It is certainly helpful for you to post this for
others. I also recommend Priceline for Vancouver lodging- I haven't heard of
any bad wins there and sometimes significant savings.

So it turns out that I have the Hyatt for our first night before the cruise.
My mom and sister are also joining us - or us them - so they both have rooms
to. My kids have a room. That's 4 rooms the first night. Then on to Alaska
for a week. My mom and sis wanted to stay in Van the night after the cruise
so I got them rooms, but we were going to go to Vancouver Island for a
night. Now I find out that it is a day trip each way, and with a car it is
more money than I wanted to spend. So, back to Priceline for a room, and low
and behold no 4 star for $70.00 anymore. Damn! Did someone here grab the
last one??? ;-( Now what? The rest of the family will be at the Hyatt while
we wander the streets. Hmm...

Harvey
