Default San Juan Departure: How early is too early?

Is 10:40 AM too early to schedule a departure out of San Juan the morning
after a cruise. Thinking of the Norwegian Sky southern Caribbean. The ship
is scheduled to arrive at port at 7 AM.

Is this cutting it too close?

Would travel insurance cover this if the ship was delayed or cleared late?

Yes,, it is waaaaaaaay too early.

Insurance will not cover you if you miss your flight either.

Most insurance policies now require a minimum connection time at airports as
well. If you book connecting flights which do not have the required
connection time.. and you miss your flight... you are SOL.
The insurance company won't pay.
I never book any flights out of SJU before 12 Noon. NEVER!

There's a reason why those earlier departures are cheaper! They don't work for
cruise passengers!

I would book something after 1:00 pm.

You should treat San Juan as an international airport and arrive 2 hours
before your flight. San Juan can have very long lines in the airport.
