Default Change of TA?

After deposit is made but before final payment, can one change TA? If this
can be accomplished; what is the correct approach?

Maybe I'm wrong, but at that point in the transaction, hasn't the TA done 90%
of the work.

The reason behind the change might be of interest. If you want to switch now
because you want your cousin to get the commission on the deal, versus your
current TA ripping off 20 people in the last week.

Yes you can decide to transfer your booking to another TA. Your deposit
should have gone directly to the cruise line and not the TA. However did
you sign any contract with the TA you used to make your deposit? They
can impose a cancel/change fee if you did sign an agreement with the
original booking agency. Usually $25 fee per person.

Yes, you certainly may change the TA of Record at any time. The procedure varies
by Cruise Line but basically you need will need to contact the Customer Service
Desk of your Cruise Line and initiate the transfer. They will explain what you
and the new Agent need to do. Be aware that the old Agency may impose a
"Cancellation Fee" and watch for any unusual charge to your Credit Card.

It is pretty tacky but there are times when it is necessary. In general no
problem, Our agency regularly transfers bookings to another agency so that
we can take advantage of perks that they offer (Golden Bear with the
Mariners club).

What is tacky is when agent A has done all of the leg work and then Bs the
full commission for a telephone call.
