Default Santiago to Valparaiso

We are taking a South American cruise that starts in Valparaiso. We figured
out that we'll have to fly to Santiago (Chile) but one of our group will land
alone and is concerned about how to get from Santiago airport to Valparaiso,
where we have a hotel booked.

The cruise line's hotel was over $300 per night - ours in a four star, air
conditioned hotel is $57 or so - a considerable saving. Now.. Can anyone tell
me how we get from Santiago Airport to Valparaiso city?

Thanks in advance.

Karen, which cruise line will you be on and how soon will you be leaving.
Our South American cruise ends in Santiago and we are on the Norwegian
Crown.

You really saved a lot booking your own hotel and a four star at that! Sorry
I can't answer your question on getting to Valparaiso from Santiago as we
will be going opposite ways there.

We were unable to get on the NCL cruise in either direction for January though
we tried booking early. Seems there was a huge group that took every available
cabin days before we tried. We ended up on Princess (don't know which ship)
for a very comparable rate - maybe a bit lower (three in an outside cabin) and
I believe it's the same itinerary.

Wow, that's interesting. We are on the Crown Jan 11th cruise! We booked
in April. A large group should make it interesting. Lisa

Lisa,
Our cruise is this November, on the Norwegian Crown~We booked in August,
2002, and on the Norwegian Dream. Then NCL got the Crown Odyssey back from
the Orient Line and re-named it Norwegian Crown and kept the same
itinerary.

Jean, I hope you will be posting a trip report. I'd love to hear how it
went. We have been on the Crown twice before when it belonged to Royal
Cruise Line and we were thrilled when this itinerary became available.
