Default Excursions?

Has anyone any recommendations for excursions in Puerto Limon Costa Rica,
Salaverry( Trujillo) and Lima Peru, and Arica Chile?
Also for Coquimbo, in case we don't do Machu Picchu.

Thanks, Jean

We did the Rain Forest Aerial Tram in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. It was
a very unusual and enjoyable excursion. You ride above the treetops
with 3 or 4 other passengers plus a guide, who points out any animals
and vegetation. The only thing was we were a little disappointed to not
see more wildlife, but the animals are more active very very early in
the morning, before the tourists arrive.

Thanks, Laura, we are considering this one. It is an all day excursion
though, isn't it?

Our table mates did the Rain Forest Aerial Tram and raved about it. We
took the Canal ride and found it very enjoyable and had a wonderful
guide. Those who took the canal ride earlier in the day, got to see more
wildlife.

I've heard good things about the tram too, Sue. But I understand it is about
7 hours long and maybe a bit to much for me.
Did you take the Canal ride through the ship or a private vendor?

We took it through the ship. When we got to the canal, they had a lot of
fresh fruit laid out for us to help ourselves. I don't remember if it
was "only" fruit, but it was very good. They also had a few musicians
and some crafts. Then we got on the boats, it was a very relaxing excursion.

I did not think the arial tram was worth the money or the long ride. We
saw no wildlife as they are scared off by the tram. If you are into
insects there are some ants and they show you some other interesting
insects. If the excursion was $40 and a couple of hours it might be
worth it.

Thanks for your opinion, Charles. I think we will substitute the Tortuguero
Canal if it is offered.

Leaving next week, you'll have taken yours before we take ours~are you
taking the ship's or on your own? It will be interesting to compare notes
when we return.
