My intention is to do it independent of the ship if I can find some
others on the cruise who would like to do it.

Default Excursions?

Yes, it is an all day excursion. They gave us a nice buffet lunch at
the cafeteria at the Tram. We did this through the ship excursion. The
bus ride to get to the tram is quite long, between a half to a full
hour, as I recall, and we felt if there were some delay, it would be
nice to be sure the ship would wait for us!
