Depends on where you're going, and on what cruise line.

On a casual NCL cruise around Hawaii, a couple of polo shirts, a few
pairs of swim trunks, a pair of long pants, a pair of semi-dress shoes
(loafers, for example), some beach shoes, some underwear, a pair of
socks, and a light jacket would be enough - it could easily fit into a
carry on, and you could wash things in your cabin if necessary.

A trip of similar length to Alaska on the Queen Elizabeth would
require a larger outfit.

Bring ID and a credit card. That's two things, but you'll need them
to get on board.

Leave home your hairdryer and your iron. Also I would leave expensive
jewelry or valuables at home.

Bring a camera and a multiple outlet strip and as Annie points out,
your medications. And money
