Default San Juan Hotels

We're looking to book on RCCL Adventure of the Seas May 10 2009 and
were looking for a hotel for 1 maybe 2 days prior. All searches on the
group bring up replies from 1999- 2007, trying to find some from a
more recent date. Any help is greatly appreciated. We've left from San
Juan 3 times and spent 2 of those times running up the gangway! This
time we're going early!! Thanks in advance.

After 30-40 business trips to Puerto Rico... here's the list of places that
I would stay (not in any order).

Caribe Hilton
El San Juan
Ritz Carleton
Marriott Stelaris
Condado Plaza
Embassy Suites (not on ocean so usually the cheapest)

We got a good rate at the Intercontinental on Priceline pre-cruise and
thought it was quite nice, as well. If you're not particular about any
one property, Priceline or Hotwire can be just the thing in a situation
like this.

A few more suggestions are Numero Uno Guest House. It is on the beach
in Ocean Park, a semi residential area a cheap taxi ride from Old San
Juan. They are reasonably priced and have a great continental
breakfast.
The second is the Gallery Inn on the north end of Old San Juan,a
walkable distance to the cruise pier. It is a combination guest house
and art museum. It is quite unique.
