Default Opinions req: Will a HAL cruiser like NCL?

W have done about a dozen cruises with HAL and we are contemplating an NCL
cruise
Not because we don't still like HAL.... we do! We are looking at this
because of the itinerary and the value, but we're hesitant to book a LONG
NCL cruise, not sure if us HAL fans will like it.

Any opinions??

I've sailed HAL ... but NCL a lot ... NCL best fits what I'm looking
for in a cruise ... most of the people on most of the cruises are like
us ... liking the informal atmosphere and the relaxed attitude
conducive for a mid fifties working couple looking for a vacation with
no schedule ...
We enjoyed our HAL cruise immensely ... felt very young ( all is
relative :-) ) ... If you liked the flaming desserts ... the more
formal atmosphere ... the afternoon teas ... you'll miss them ... NCL
has little of that ...

If you want to try a more relaxed unscheduled experience ... freestyle
in all areas ... and know what you'll be missing ... you'll love
it ...

If the itinerary is what you are looking for go. You will not know if
you like NCL or not without 'testing the water' yourself. Different
people will tell you different things. Others' impressions are all very
well, but they are not you.

I have sailed both lines and both had plusses and minuses over the
other. To anyone else my minuses may have been their plusses etc. They
are 2 quite different types of cruising, neither of which is better than
the other, and only you will know if you also enjoy them both or not, if
you go.

Hey, if the price is right, go for it. We have sailed on both and enjoyed
both, but don't expect to have quite the service, etc, that you've had on
HAL.

We have done 7 out of our 50 or so cruises on NCL and have never been on a
BAD cruise. Keep your expectations in check and you'll be fine.

Which ship, and itinerary, are you looking at?

And the similar comments of Capt Mary Kidd, Sheree and Tobie, which I
didn't see when I wrote!
