Default WiFi on RCCL Explorer of the Seas?

Can anyone confirm what areas of this ship have free WiFi access - if
any? I have read varing reports and it seems like some public areas
have it while access in your room is for a fee. I'm looking for
specific areas where I'll be able to get online with my laptop. Thank
you for your help!

No area on Explorer of the Seas has free Wi-Fi. They charge for Wi-Fi.
It is either by the minute or different packages of minutes.

When I was on Explorer last year there was no access in cabins, only in
specific public areas, except if you had an inside promenade you could
pick it up from the hot spot on the promenade. It is possible that has
changed. The last Royal Caribbean ship did have Wi-Fi in the cabins but
that was their newest ship.

There is no free WiFi at all on the Explorer (or any other ship I'm
aware of). There are hotspots throughout the ship, including the
Windjammer, the Viking Crown Lounge, the Internet Cafe, Library and Cafe
Promenade, but not in the rooms.

You will need to sign up (online) once you board, and pick a package
that will provide you with x number of minutes for y dollars, ranging
from about $.55 down to .$30 or so.

And be forewarned that the connection can be balky due to router
limitations. If the system has reached capacity, you may not be able to
sign on in that particular area until things free up. We had to move
around with our laptop a couple of times on our last cruise. Once
connected, things usually went pretty smoothly. You won't get lightning
fast speed, but you will be able to take care of what you need to
without too much frustration.
