Les,
Before you leave, I'd contact the hotel where you're staying to ensure that
everything is ok. An earthquake that strong could cause damage to
infrastructure. Make sure they haven't lost electricity, water or other
important things. You don't want to show up and find yourself in some giant
room at the hotel, living on a cot, with limited food and water. Possibly
no running water. Possible no working bathrooms.
