Default Back-to-Back Cruises

We'll be sailing back-to-back itineraries on the Mariner of the Seas
this October.

Does anyone know how Royal Caribbean handles folks who are staying
on-board for a second cruise?

For example, do they spot-weld us into our cabin so that we don't get in
the way of disembarkation/embarkation? :)

You will get a letter in your cabin on or about the next to last
day with your instructions. Usually you go to the Pursers Desk and
you will show your passports again along with your tickets and set up
your new charge account. Then you will wait in the area and they will
do a head count of those doing a B2B. They then escort you off the
ship and thru security after all other passengers have left the area.
Once thru security you will be escorted back on the ship and your
second weeks vacation will be under way. Very hassle free. In all
once you are escorted off the ship and back on it will take less than
5 mins. Royal Caribbean really does a good job with B2B guests.
Other than meeting at the assigned time you are free to go anywhere
around the ship. Just a reminder there is no room service for
breakfast on the last day of the cruise. The buffet area is usally
mobbed. Once you reboard the ship lunch will be served. You will be
the first people on the ship. Enjoy your B2B...they are alot of
fun.

My wife and I once did a back to back cruise on Celebrity (out and
return to Alaska). The layover was no hassle at all. It was kind of
interesting to observe the disembarkation and embarkation from
the inside, as it were, and to see the different moods of the people
going home and coming in.

The entertainment and the menus in the two weeks were identical.
It made it real easy to choose what to order at dinner :)
