Default Insurance for Charter?

What is the arrangement when a firm charters a full ship and sells the
cabins on that itinerary?

Specifically, if a company like RSVP or Atlantis were to go bankrupt
and cancels a cruise, would the paid booking and liability lie with
the chartering firm or the cruiseline?

....and do standard travel insurance policies cover bankruptcy of the
charterer?

(I was on the Rembrandt when Premier Cruises went bankrupt in 2000 -
so I'm a bit wary about such things)

Given the amount of money the big 3 are committing to new-builds vs. a
company like Premier that tried to get by with others' re-treads... I think
if you stick with cruise lines that the big 3 own, you're ok from a concern
about bankruptcy. They've got pretty "deep pockets". I believe that
Crystal is owned by a company with "deep pockets" as well.
