| | Guest | San Juan boarding time? My wife and I got on around 12ish so we could maximize our time
on-board. Don't expect to be able to move right into your room. You may
be able to if its cleaned early ours wasn't. But we did get to walk
around, have some adult beverages and late lunch. Around 3ish when we
went back to the room it was all setup.

Both previous times that we have begun cruises in San Juan we were able to
access our cabin by 12:30.
I will say that as the ships grow in size and the number of crew diminish it
does now take long to turn over the ship at the beginning and end of a
cruise. For the record, the largest ship we have ever been on was Westerdam
at just under 2000 passengers, and the only time that, on boarding, we were
sent to the Lido for lunch while the cabin was being cleaned.

They usually will start letting people on at 12 but tell you that the
rooms will not be ready until 1.

Sailing earlier this month on Voyager (out of Miami) we got to the
Port around 11:45, sailed through registration and then waited until
about 12:30 to get on and then to 1:00 to get in the room.
Another consideration (at least in US ports) is how many there are
from outside the country. Acccording to both NCL and ICE guys that I was
talking to, the more non-citizens they have to clear through Customs,
the longer it takes to release the ship to the next group. That's their
story and they are sticking to it, anyway. | |

| | Guest | San Juan boarding time? Was this for Adventure out of San Juan? I always like to get to
the ship around noon but that is for a cruise that is due to
leave at 5. Checking the Royal Caribbean website I see that
Adventure departs at 8:30pm. I wonder if they still let you on
at noon?

They started boarding at 12:30 when I took Adventure of the Seas but
that was in December of 2001. It is possible things could have changed
but I doubt it.
