Default Stingray City or Stingray Sandbar?

We have a stop at Grand Cayman on our upcoming Star Princess cruise
leaving on 3/31.

We want to swim with the stingrays and snorkel.

Anybody have a recommendation of one site over the other?

TIA

Mike

Unless someone corrects me I think they are one in the same.

I think they are the same as well. I would also recommend booking with
Captain Marvins , I heard they were the very best in the business. I went
with them 2 years ago and had a great time , Captain Marvin himself came
along on our boat , and he must have been about 75 or so . It was definitely
something I look forward to doing again.

The shallow area is the Sandbar. There is also a somewhat deeper area
for diving and snorkeling. There are excursions that go to the deeper
area so it is best to make sure the excursion is going to the Sandbar.
I recall that some were burned by this difference on some cruise line
excursions several years ago.

I second your recommendation to book with Captain Marvin.

If you want to see any fish while snorkeling you'll have to choose a tour
that goes to the deeper water but I prefer the shallow water where you can
walk around in waist deep water with a mask to view the sting rays. I've
been on some independent tours that stop at both but I don't recall whose
tour it was.

Hi Mike,
We signed with Moby Tours this past September and they were great
as well as $10 less per person from the ship's booking. We did the
stingrays, then moved off a little further to snorkel. They provided the
fins, vests and masks as well as food to feed the stingrays. I'll use them
again. Have fun.
